Bad Parenting

Bad Parenting is a short narrative horror game set entirely within a small apartment. Players take control of Ron, a father who must confront a growing threat connected to the legend of Mr. Red Face—a figure originally told to children as a cautionary tale. The game explores how fear, memory, and responsibility overlap, using tight spaces and distorted visuals to reflect the pressure building around the main character. The environment slowly changes, reacting to Ron’s decisions and the unseen presence watching from the dark.

Retro Style Meets Psychological Distortion

The game uses a visual style inspired by 90s cartoons, adding a surreal layer to the horror elements. Objects appear exaggerated, shadows behave unnaturally, and colors shift as tension rises. Events unfold in a linear format, with scripted scenes and timed interactions that push the story forward. Supernatural interference affects what the player sees and how they interact with their surroundings, blending classic point-and-click mechanics with light movement and timing-based segments.

Extras and Custom Visual Options

The Steam version of Bad Parenting includes a new Fanart Exhibition mode, where players can walk through a 3D gallery filled with artwork submitted by fans. It also features four graphic filters and adjustable brightness settings, allowing for different visual experiences. Though the game lasts around 30 minutes, its mix of eerie storytelling, personal stakes, and stylized horror creates a focused experience that lingers beyond the final scene.
